There is a handmade Christmas dress in my husband’s family that had been handed down between his brother’s and sisters’ families over the last twenty years.
This Christmas, my daughter had the privilege of wearing it.
It was handmade by a woman in Mobile, AL over twenty years ago.
The dress is exquisite. The deep red cotton fabric is buttery and luxurious.
It has an elegant six-inch blind hem,
hand embroidery, beautiful lacework, with every seam finished.
I wish I could make something like this: something absolutely cherished. To me, that’s what handmade is all about.
I hope you had a Merry Christmas!
