Handmade Baby Clothes: Very Hungry Caterpillar Pants
If you saw my last post, then you’ll know that I embellished a onesie inspired by Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I decided to just keep on and make some little pants to complete the outfit.
The pants are 100% cotton flannel, in a light purple (because that is my friend’s favorite color AND she’s having a girl). I tried my hand at a flat-felled seam with a zig-zag stitch for fun, and I really like the result.
The pattern is Rae’s Newborn Pants (free).
The small amount of detail I added are supposed to reference when the caterpillar ate through the different foods. It was supposed to be a reverse appliqué of sorts, although it’s not very obvious.
I still think it’s cute, though.
